About

"The Names of Places" blog is a spin-off from a book.  The book was a collection of linked stories depicting the mystery of the sea and the desolation of the road through the eyes of two joyful hobos trekking from Chicago to the Virgin Islands to Florida to Texas and beyond.  Along the way they encounter addicts, cops, soldiers, shamans, pig farmers, murderers, liars, and thieves.  They discover wisdom and foolishness with their thumbs held high, waiting for the next ride to the next town.

Like a haibun linking poetry with prose, or like a renga linking the perspectives of several artists in one piece, this blog just keeps on spewing forth crazy encounters with regular people, incidents and individuals embedded in the same lat long fabric that we all share at this time in history.
